The Public Udomlia district discuss substantiation of the Kalininskaya NPP power unit №1 license operationat capacit 104 percent

Public debate will pass in the form of "round table" and preliminary study materials license (MOT) of the Kalininskaya NPP operating unit №1 connecting to power at capacity 104% will be discussed in Udomlya 17 October. The event will be the next key step to educate the public on the block of the sectoral programs implementation.

In July of this year public hearing on the preliminary assessment materials of environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the Kaliniskaya NPP power unit №1 operating at 104% power in Udomlya district were held. Current legislation also provides materials justifying exploitation license pf the power unit №1 of Kalininskaya NPP operating at 104% capacity for public discussion.

Participants in public discussions will make presentations on the theme of "round table" "Materials justify exploitation of the Kaliniskaya power unit №1 license at the capacity 104%"; "The implementation of measures to improve the safety of operation of the power unit when lifting power"; "Organization of Radiation Monitoring in the placement of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant." Experts in the field of ecology and environmental protection, nuclear energy, health, and population will express their opinion.

All recommendations and suggestions of the public, made at the "round table", will be reflected in the record, and taken into account in the final shaping of the MOT. Further substantiation of the license will be made at the state ecological expertise.

The event will be held at the Public Information Centre (Tver region, Udomlya str. Popov, d. 25) at 17.00 on 17 October.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
