The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant: the power unit No. 4 switched on into a network after carrying out repair

On November 7 at 14 h. 22 min. the power unit No. 4 of the Kalininskaya nuclear station was switched on into a network after carrying out repair work.

The power unit was stopped on October 31 according to the permitted request of JSC «Rosenergoatom Concern». During the repair a number of works on defect elimination on the activator of the TG-4 generator and the equipment of the first contour were carried out.

As of 15.30 November 7 there are four power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant in work. Their total loading constitutes 3331 MWt.

The radiation background around an arrangement of the nuclear station and the adjacent territory is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
