The deputy director general - the director of the JSC «Rosenergoatom» Concern branch «the Kalininskaya nuclear station» M.Yu.Kanyshev was awarded with the International award «Person of the Year» for an outstanding contribution to power development and observance of ecological safety high standards.

The XXI ceremony of the International award «The Person of Year — 2013» presenting took place on November 27 in the Sergiyevsky hall of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow.

The award is awarded to Russian citizens and representatives of the near and far abroad for successful performance for the benefit of Russia in such areas, as religion, policy, economy, education, science, culture, sports, medicine, small and innovative production, and also the projects implementation, oriented to the social sphere.

Among winners of this year are the President of Russia V.V.Putin, Mayor of Moscow S. S. Sobyanin, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Activity I.A.Yarovaya, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation S.Yu.Glazyev, the space pilot of the USSR A.A.Leonov, the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Medical Science, the director general of the Center of cardiovascular surgery of A.N.Bakulev L.A.Bokery, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill and others.

Organizers of the tender are the Institute of economic strategy (INES) and the Russian biographic institute (RUBIN). The main objective facing them is researching of the Russian society by means of the activities analysis most noticeable its representatives, assistance of the country evolution in the direction of innovations and progress, public drawing attention to the persons making a noticeable contribution to development of Russia, helping integration of domestic and world achievements in the field of science, economy and culture.

Speaking at the ceremony of awards presenting, Mikhail Kanyshev thanked members of the Advisory council for an appreciation of its contribution to power development, in creation and maintenance of high environmental standards. «First of all, I carry this merit to activities of all staff of the Kalininskaya nuclear station. Any award is always honourable and is always responsible! I want to assure you that further all my activities and activities of collective headed by me will be directed on strengthening of Russian energy security and maintenance of the ecological safety highest standards!»

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
