The Kalininskaya NPP power unit №3 will shut down for planned maintenance

On October 25, 2014 the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant power unit №3 will be shut down for a planned overhaul, which will last until 18 December this year.

During the repair campaign it is planned to overhaul the reactor plant and turbine generator; current repair of the unit transformer; repair of the turbine with the opening of the high pressure cylinder, low pressure cylinders 3,4, bearing 1-14 repair, repair of regulation components by the autopsy results. There will also be upgraded seals main connector of the main circulation pump 2, the outer housing of the low pressure cylinder, turbo-nutritient pump capacitors, regulation and protection of the turbogenerator and drive control and protection system covers.

There are four power units at the Kaliniskaya NPP in work at the moment. The radiation background on the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
