The Kalininskaya NPP has successfully passed the planned fire training

General fire training took place on April 15, 2015 at the Kalininskaya NPP. The exercise was attended by the operating personnel change stations and service process management specialists and also fire brigades from the FBS Emergency Situations Ministry. Training was conducted in accordance with the main activities plan of the Emergency Main Department in Russia in the Tver region and the Kalininskaya NPP.

During fire training practical skills of operating personnel shifts and fire brigades units interaction have been worked out under an emergency at the plant.

According to the Acting Chief Engineer of the Kalininskaya NPP Alexander Rumyantsev, the training was successful: "The firehouse unit and the NPP specialists actions demonstrated a high level of interaction, mobility, skills and ability to cope with an emergency situation".

Exercises are an integral part of the nuclear power plants safe operation.

There are power units № 2,№3 and №4 in work at the Kalininskaya NPP at the moment. The power unit №1 is in scheduled maintenance. The radiation background corresponds to level of normal operation of power units, which doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
