Kalininskaya nuclear power plant: the power unit No. 2 is restarted after planned testing of equipment

On the 20th July at 21 h. 03 min. the power unit No. 2 of Kalininskaya nuclear station was restarted after carrying out planned approbation of the equipment. The power unit was stopped on July 12 according to the permitted request. Testing of a protective cover according to requirements of Federal regulations and rules was carried out in the course of the work, approbation of safety valves, and also works on note elimination on PG-1 were carried out.

As of 8.00 on July 22 there are three power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant in work. Their total loading constitutes 3113 MWt. On the power unit No. 3 repair works are proceeded.

There aren't any violations of limits and conditions of safe operation. The radiation background around an arrangement of nuclear station and the adjacent territory is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values..

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
