Acting Director of the Kalininskaya NPP Viktor Sushko congratulated the staff of the KNPP with achievement of index for electricity generation since the start-up in amount of 500 billion kWh. "This is a good gift for the industry and the country on the eve of our professional holiday - the Day of the nuclear industry - and in the year of 70th anniversary of the industry", - he said.

This event station staff met with good performance and economic indicators. During eight months of 2015 the Kalininskaya NPP has produced 22.367 billion of kWh, the plan is executed by 100.4%.

The main production objectives are to develop a recording amount of electric power - more than 33 billion kilowatt-hours, preparations for works on modernization in the framework of the industry program for extending life of the power unit №2 and replacing of condenser of the turbine block №3 at the Kalininskaya NPP in 2015. Among the key tasks for the year there is also using of regime of total primary control after frequency at the power units of Kalinin NPP. The project is implemented in order to improve the stability of the Unified Energy System of Russia.

There are four power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant in work. The radiation background at the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
