On August 12 at 18:15 the power unit No. 4 of the Kalininskaya nuclear station was stopped according to the permitted request submitted to JSC «Rosenergoatom Concern» for carrying out repair work on the generator equipment of the power unit No. 4.

Carrying out the repair is connected with a need of elimination of a gas thinness of the generator. Preliminary term of accomplishment of the repair transactions is 5 days.

There are three power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant at the moment in work: power unit No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3. Their total loading constitutes 3137 MWt.

The radiation background on the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
