On March 4 at 05:28 the power unit No. 4 of Kalinin NPP was stopped for carrying out planned overhaul.

During repair campaign which will last 58 days, carrying out a number of procedural works by forces of the repair and technical personnel of station and representatives of contract organizations - more than 1500 people is planned.

Currently the Kalinin NPP runs two power units  - No. 2 and No. 3.

Repair works on the power unit No. 1 are prolonged approximately till the beginning of April because of the revealed defects on the heatmechanical equipment. Originally it was planned to bring it into operation at the beginning of March.

The radiation background at the nuclear power plant and the adjacent territory is at the level corresponding to the power units’ normal operation and does not exceed the natural background values
