A subject meeting on the issues of labor safety, devoted to the world OSH day, was held for the seventh time at Kalinin NPP in Tver region and at the nuclear plant. On April, 27, the representatives of State Labor Inspection in Tver region, district Department of the Population Employment, city government, heads of Udomlya district enterprises and organizations gathered in KaNPP Public Information Centre.

Opening the meeting and emphasizing its significance, Acting Director of Kalinin NPP Mikhail Kanyshev paid attention to the fact that the results of the great work in the field of labor safety, being carried out in each enterprise, were usually summarized at such events. “I hope, that like in the previous year, the strategy and tactics concerning the achievement of the aims, set while performing the main employer’s function – employees’ health life saving whole carrying their work out, will be defined here”, he underlined.

Labor safety at Kalinin NPP is one of the top-priority branches of its activity, and the system of labor safety management meets the most up-to-date requirements. As Head of the Department of Labor Relations and Occupation Safety of Tver district Department of the Population Employment Elena Ignatova noted, Kalinin nuclear plant was practically the only one enterprise in Tver district, celebrating the world OSH day annually. 

“I would like to give thanks to the NPP administration for the fact that we have the Associates in the fight for the health of a working person, a man of labor, in their face”, E. Ignatova said. She also reported that due to the instruction of Tver region Governor D. V. Zelenin, Head of Labor Safety Department of Kalinin NPP Nikolay Kukharev was distinguished by the Governor for his significant achievements in the field of the safe labor conditions provision, active participation in the propaganda of labor safety questions, reduction of industrial traumas and professional diseases and the workers’ health saving. 

During the meeting the winners of the traditional inspection-competition on labor safety among KaNPP subdivisions were determined according to the results of 2010. In different groups, reactor compartment No.1, the Department of centralized repair, the Department of warehouse, the Department of information and communication technologies were awarded the first prizes.
