Kalinin NPP employees have been included on the list of “The Engineer of the Year” competition prize winners

The results of XI All-Russian competition “The Engineer of the Year-2010” were announced. Kalinin nuclear plant employees (Tver region) have been participating in Nuclear Power nomination for eleven years. 

The results were summarized for two versions of the competition - “Professional Engineers” and “The Youth Engineering Art”. In “Professional Engineers” version the rank of the competition winner was given to Alexey Tsvetkov, Chief Engineer of Nuclear Safety and Reliability Department (NSRD).

Alexey Gubin, Chief Industrial Engineer of the Engineering and Technical Operation Support Department (ETOS), and Sergey Rodionov, NSRD Category 1 Engineer, were the winners of “Professional Engineers of Russia” competition.

Maxim Milyaev, Category I Electroics Engineer of Central Repair Department (CRD), and Konstantin Shenberger, Category II NSRD Engineer, were the winners of “The Youth Engineering Art” version.

“The Engineer of the Year” competition is organized in main branches of engineering and scientific and organization activities, and traditionally popularize the best country specialists’ achievements.

Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district. Kalinin nuclear power plant comprises three operating power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) of 1,000 MW capacity each. Power unit No. 4 is under construction now and is to be commissioned in 2011.
