General fire training, which was conducted in accordance with the main activities plan of the Russia Emergency Main Department in the Tver region and the Kalininskaya NPP, took place on March 10 at the Kalininskaya NPP.

The importance of checking the NPP staff operational readiness and the personnel of the fire service to operate in conditions of beyond design basis accidents and emergency situations was assessed by a NPP senior shift supervisor Alexander Shenberger: "Trainings are held for station employees to work out team actions, the interaction with the adjacent shops and fire department personnel, as well as to identify and address possible shortcomings in emergency liquidation. They enable each employee to assess their skills and to analyze the capabilities of the equipment in an emergency situation, help to gain confidence".

There are four power units in work at the Kalininskaya NPP at the moment. The radiation background corresponds to level of normal operation of power units, which doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
