On April 5, 2012 a delegation from the Turkish Republic made an inception visit to Kalinino NPP under the implementation of the Program of the 2020-nuclear industry development International Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy.

Public Information Centre of Kalinino NPP hosted a business meeting of foreign guests with the front office of the plant. During the joint council the Director of Kalinino NPP Mikhail Kanyshev told the guests details about the work of the nuclear enterprise and prospects for the nuclear power plants building both in Russia and abroad.  

He expressed a hope that all the seen by the Turkish specialists would make a good impression on them, strengthen a wish of father cooperation with the Russian party in the field of the nuclear power engineering development, as well as serve for the successful implementation of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. “We are always open to a dialogue, and technical and informational exchange,” noted the Director of Kalinino NPP.

In response, the General Director of Akkuyu NPP Alexander Superfin thanked the front office of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and Kalinino NPP for the warm reception, and added: “The purpose of our visit - to explain our Turkish experts what Russian nuclear technologies are represented by and show them Kalinino NPP, which is one of the leaders of the Russian nuclear power engineering. We will apply the best practices at our nuclear power plant.

After the meeting, the guests got acquainted with the exposition “Kalinino NPP. What It is”, as well as with the artistic photo exhibition “Kalinino NPP – thousands of megawatt of reliability”.

That day under the visit program, the Turkish delegation representatives visited the operating power units of Kalinino NPP, turbine islands, and unit control room of the power unit No.4, and educational and training unit of Kalinino NPP.

For the guests, there was organized an excursion to the creative “Villa “Chaika” (Seagull), where they could see the beauty of the Udomel territory, represented at the exhibition of paintings and photographs “The House with Its Windows Towards the Heart”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Concern.

Kalinino NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Plant is situated on the north of the Tver Region in Udomelsk district. Kalinino NPP includes three power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) each one having a capacity of 1000 MW. Implementation of a multistage program of the energy start-up continues its realization on the 4th power unit, which start-up took place on November2011. On December 4, 2011 the No.4 unit capacity was increased to 50 % for the transition to the stage of pilot operation.
