At the Rostov NPP (part of Rosenergoatom Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation), the stage of pilot operation of the Operation Support Information System (IS PE) of NPPs has started - a unique platform developed by domestic IT specialists.

It is designed to combine all important processes related to the operation of equipment and ensuring the safety of a nuclear power plant in order to reduce time and increase work efficiency. The system is integrated with other IT systems of the Rosenergoatom Concern.

The Rostov NPP is among the first five nuclear power plants where this project has started to be implemented. It is assumed that in the future the System will be replicated not only at Russian, but also at foreign NPPs of Russian design.

According to experts who have already started working in the operation support information system, it combines the processes of operational operation, maintenance and repair, engineering support, resource management and documentation.

The system allows to collect data on various facilities, provide support for the operation of nuclear power plants using a digital production control system, makes it possible to optimize production processes, reduce the time to coordinate repair and operational documentation.

“Today, this is the largest project in the digitalization program of Rosenergoatom. By implementing it at the Rostov NPP, we set ourselves the tasks of increasing the reliability, efficiency and safety of nuclear power plant operation, reducing the time for repairs, maintenance of systems and equipment, and minimizing the number of violations caused by the human factor. Almost all operating and maintenance personnel will work in the System, which maintains a database of equipment, conducts rounds, monitors the condition of equipment and makes repairs. And also - employees of the departments of personnel, personnel development and remuneration", - said the director of the Rostov NPP Andrey Salnikov.

With the help of the system, it is possible to form annual equipment repair schedules, perform operational and long-term planning, and prepare acts of work performed. Information relating to personnel matters, staff training and development will also be stored in the Operations Support Information System.

Pilot operation of the IS PE NPP at the Rostov NPP will last until June 2023. Then the System will be put into commercial operation.

Today, the Government of the Russian Federation has created conditions for the emergence and accelerated implementation of modern technologies, the creation of Russian software as part of programs to achieve technological sovereignty in the digital sphere. The accelerated development of industry directly depends on the pace of transition to a modern technological basis, domestic digital solutions.
