Future physicists visited the Beloyarsk NPP

5th year students of the Ural Federal University, studying at the Department of Nuclear Power Plants and Renewable Energy Sources, visited the Beloyarsk NPP for educational purposes. They walked around the production site of power unit No. 4 with the BN-800 fast neutron nuclear reactor, as well as the training center of the nuclear power plant.

The future engineers got acquainted with the equipment of the turbine room and the main control room, and also examined the layout of the reactor in section. Students were able to see with their own eyes the work of operators and ask questions to the NPP specialists.

The fifth-year students visited the training center in classrooms and laboratories where the personnel of the nuclear power plant are trained and maintain their qualifications in radiation safety, labor protection, repair competencies and other specialized disciplines. In addition, they visited the simulator of the BN-800 power unit, where the operational personnel of the Beloyarsk NPP are trained.

Among the visitors there was a student from Indonesia, Naba Fath, who plans to apply the knowledge gained at the university in her homeland.

“I see that nuclear energy is very well developed in Russia, so I am getting my education here. Today the Beloyarsk NPP made my dream come true: I tried myself as a reactor control operator on a full-scale BN-800 simulator, it's very cool,” Naba Fath shared her impressions.

During communication with the employees of the plant, UrFU students learned about specific vacancies that will be available to them after graduation. Besides, the guys met with representatives of the personnel management service and discussed with them questions about possible employment and details of the program to support young professionals.
