Representatives of Rosenergoatom were awarded the prestigious WANO award for outstanding achievements in the sphere of nuclear energy

The World Association of Nuclear Power Plant Operators (WANO) has announced the names of the specialists who have received the prestigious industry "Nuclear Excellence Award". The award ceremony was traditionally held on the sidelines of the WANO General Assembly, which this year took place in Prague (Czech Republic).

Two representatives of Rosenergoatom (part of the Electric Power Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) - Alexander Shutikov, first deputy general director for NPP operation, and Valery Bessonov, deputy general director - director of the Balakovo NPP were among those who received the award this year.

The Nuclear Excellence Awards were established by WANO in 2002 in honor of WANO co-founder Zack Pate. It is awarded to individuals who have made the most outstanding contribution to improving the operation of nuclear power plants, the infrastructure supporting the nuclear industry, or the development of WANO.

In all the years, since the establishment of the award, it has been awarded to eight managers of Rosenergoatom, who were determined as a result of a thorough nomination and selection procedure.
