The first residents moved into the Kursk NPP-2 construction camp

Three residential buildings of the camp for builders working at the construction of the Kursk NPP-2 have been occupied. The buildings housed 626 people – employees of contractors SMU-1 LLC and NIKIMT-Atomstroy JSC. In total, the project of the camp has six residential three-story buildings, in which 2,176 assemblers, fitters, welders, and concrete workers can live.

The living conditions of the builders of the replacement station were studied by journalists from leading regional publications during a special press tour. Media representatives saw over living rooms, household premises – laundry rooms, areas for rest and cooking. In the canteen they had a taste of the builder's lunch.

“The construction of a camp is a necessity that has become urgent due to the increase in the scale of construction of new power units of the Kursk NPP,” Alexei Buldygin, head of the capital construction department of the Kursk NPP-2, said welcoming the journalists. “Now more than 7,000 people work at the construction site. More specialists will be needed. Their comfortable settling is a strategic investment in the implementation of plans for the construction of PWR-TOI units.”

The construction camp is located three kilometers from Kurchatov, on an area of ​​over 4 hectares. The developer was the KAES-Service enterprise, which services the residential complex. In addition to the dormitories, a canteen for 250 seats is already operating on the territory, there is a first-aid post, a pharmacy, a shop, sports grounds with outdoor exercise equipment and treadmills will appear in the near future.
