The number of construction and installation personnel at the Kursk NPP-2 site amounted to almost 6.5 thousand people in July

Today 6480 people are involved in the construction of innovative WWER-TOI power units at the Kursk NPP-2. The work is carried out by 24 contractors.

The work on the largest nuclear power plant construction in the country today was controlled by the General Director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom" Alexey Likhachev, the First Deputy General Director for Nuclear Energy of the State Corporation "Rosatom" - the President of ASE JSC Alexander Lokshin and the General Director of the JSC "Rosenergoatom" - the First Vice-President for NPP construction of ASE Rosatom Andrey Petrov.

“Based on the main task of Rosatom – sustainable development, the Kursk site is of strategic importance for the nuclear industry. Technologies and solutions are being developed here, which we will replicate on foreign construction sites, - said Alexey Likhachev during his visit. - But what is also important for us, as a state corporation, is people’s interests. The replacement capacities will ensure the energy security of the Central Federal District, which is over 39 million people. "

Now at the construction of the substitution station, work is being carried out at 94 objects, the key of which are the reactor and turbine buildings, auxiliary reactor buildings, normal operation power supply buildings, the complex of hydraulic structures of power unit No. 1 and No. 2.

“Construction is gaining momentum: the number of construction facilities is increasing, the need for labor is growing, and the infrastructure is developing. The increase in investments makes it possible to solve many related tasks, including those of a social plan,” said Vyacheslav Fedyukin, director of the Kursk NPP.

The builders reported to the heads of the industry and the division on the progress of the annual assignments. To date, 5 key events and 3 government assignments have been completed. In total, 15 key events are planned to be completed at power unit No. 1 and No. 2 in 2021, including 5 government assignments. Now the work is on schedule.

“One of the state assignments of this year is to achieve the readiness of the facility of the two-unit Kursk NPP-2 in the amount of 37.3 percent. For the first half of the year, builders with a plan of 29.61 reached 30 percent,” said Oleg Shperle, Vice President - Director for Construction of the Kursk NPP of ASE Rosatom.
