Customers of Xelent data center will have access to a distributed network of Rosenergoatom data centers

The clients of Xelent* data center met with Atomdata-Center in St. Petersburg, the company that integrates the infrastructure of commercial data centers and a subsidiary of Rosenergoatom JSC, part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom. Let’s not forget that at the end of March this year, Atomdata-Center has completed the acquisition of the Xelent data center as part of an open auction**.

Representatives of the largest companies in the North-West region gathered at the site of the data center: Russian and European banks, social networks, cloud providers, retail, transport companies and government organizations.

Deputy General Director - Director for Economics and Finance of Rosenergoatom JSC Sergey Migalin opened the event, noting on the company’s plans: “Rosatom intends to become one of the key players in the data center services market within the next 5 years. With the acquisition of the Xelent data center, we will be able to integrate a first-class engineering team and excellent business with more than 350 active clients in the Northwest region into our company. Our next challenge is scaling our infrastructure, including our global secure cloud, targeting multiple clients.”

Alexey Mishchenko, Executive Director of Xelent Data Center, thanked all their customers who remained loyal during the difficult transition period: “The acquisition of the data center by Rosatom testifies to their high assessment of our work, which aims at creating a modern advanced project where innovative technical solutions and globally recognized best practices are combined with an ideal customer service. The task of our team now is to focus on the intensive development of technological infrastructure and new opportunities for the geo-distributed network of Rosenergoatom's data centers. This will allow us both to expand the range of infrastructure solutions for existing customers and to increase the customer base by attracting new ones.”

General Director of Atomdata-Center Sergei Nemchenkov, in turn, noted the importance of retaining the existing team of professionals who have been working at the facility since its inception. He also outlined the intensive development of infrastructure to meet the growing needs of customers as one of the key tasks.

“In the near future we will equip the data center with uninterruptible power supply systems. This will enable the provision of up to 250 additional racks in the shortest possible time and subsequent increase of the total capacity of the data center to 1,500 racks. The inclusion of the Xelent data center in the geo-distributed network of data centers of Rosenergoatom, JSC opens up new prospects for resident companies. Now they have the opportunity to place their infrastructure in geographically dispersed data centers within the unified commercial framework of Rosatom's package offer to ensure the reliability and efficiency of corporate business processes and supporting infrastructure. We for our part also guarantee our clients a consistently high quality of work under a single Rosatom brand,” Sergey Nemchenkov said.
