An investment of 22 billion rubles is planned for 2020 for the Kursk NPP-

The funds will be allocated for the construction of both the primary facilities – reactor buildings, turbines, cooling towers – and the auxiliary ones, such as administrative buildings, standby power service, feed pump station, etc. Currently, the site hosts the construction of 44 facilities.

‘We are on a good pace. All construction and assembly activities as well as all deliveries of ready-to-go equipment to the construction site that were planned for February have been fully completed’, Nikolay Mitrofanov, the first deputy director of new power blocks construction, said.

In February, the team attained two major milestones – the completion of the 2nd power block’s auxiliary reactor building’s flooring concreting at -0.05 meters and the installation of the 1st power block’s outer reactor containment primary flooring. The team has fully delivered on the 1,359-tons reinforcement of the 1st power block’s evaporative cooling tower circular footing.

‘In February, the highest investment was for the construction and installation activities – over 379 million rubles’, Nikolay Mitrofanov continued. ‘The next milestone is the beginning of wall concreting at minus 4,250 meters at the block emergency control room. We plan to commence this activities in mid-April’.

Currently, 4,699 people excluding the engineering personnel are working at the Kursk NPP-2 construction site.
