At the site of the second power unit with VVER-1200 of Leningrad NPP the works on concrete pouring of the ceiling panel are completed at the mark of +26.200, where the reactor building central hall will be located. The installation of one of the main construction elements of the building is an important key event that allows to proceed to the assembly of the main technological equipment.

“The concrete pouring of the design mark of +26.200 is the final part of the large amount of works carried out by the specialists of Leningrad NPP under construction upon the installation of the ceiling panel of the reactor building central hall”, the leading engineer of the Technical Supervision Department of the Capital Construction Management of LNPP-2 Aleksandr Gaynanshin told about the progress of work. “Only yesterday we finished, and the commission accepted, the works on the ceiling panel reinforcing, the assembly of the timbering and embeds. This allowed the constructors to proceed to the concrete pouring of the ceiling panel that was carried out in two sections and was completed in five days. In total more than 500 cubic m of concrete was poured into the bed of monolithic structure. The completion of the concrete pouring will allow to start the next large stage of works connected to the assembly of the reactor building equipment.”

Now, at the reactor building of the power unit No 2 of Leningrad NPP under construction the events on concrete curing start. Their main task is to provide the optimal temperature and humidity conditions in order the reinforced concrete structure to gain the necessary strength.
