This very day a year before, on 31 October, 2016, the 4th power unit of Beloyarsk NPP was put into industrial operation. For this period of time the power unit generated 5,855.31 million kWh of electric energy.

The commissioning was carried out after the construction stages and the pilot operation were over, when all the necessary tests, measures, and trials at different power levels were conducted.

The power unit No 4 of Beloyarsk NPP is the world’s largest power unit with a fast-neutron reactor. According to the indications of reliability and safety BN-800 is one of the best nuclear power units in the world.

BN-800 commissioning was the milestone event not only in Russian nuclear power industry, but also at the world’s market of nuclear technologies. Today Russia is an unconditional leader in the field of fast nuclear reactors implementing the next-generation technologies of closed fuel cycle.
