Vietnamese Builders to Undergo Training at Construction Site of Rostov NPP New Units
At the construction site of Rostov NPP, the Vietnamese builders will undergo the training. The protocol of cooperation with the Vietnam National Industry Construction Group “Song Da Corporation” was signed on April 25 at the Volgodonsk branch of the JSC NIAEP - the managing organization of the JSC Atomstroyexport (JSC ASE). On the Russian side, the document has been signed by Alexander Khazin, a Director of Volgodonsk branch of the JSC NIAEP, head of the Unit 3 and Unit 4 of Rostov NPP construction, and on the Vietnamese side – by Mr. Kim Manh Ha, a Deputy General Director of Song Da Corporation.
Both of the parties are interested in this project: the beginning of the construction of the first Vietnamese NPP has been scheduled on 2014; it will be constructed upon the Russian project by Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation. The construction site for the training of the Vietnamese construction workers was chosen not coincidentally, it is the JSC NIAEP - the managing organization of the JSC ASE, a prime contractor of the construction of Rostov NPP new power units and facilities of the nuclear power engineering abroad - which is scheduled to be the contractor of the first NPP of the eternal sunshine Country.
The training project is planned for three years. About 900 specialists, which represent the Vietnamese construction sector, will pass the training in four stages and at four contractor companies. The duration of each builder’s business trip will last no less than half a year. Alexander Khazin told that the Vietnamese construction workers would be trained in the mounting of thermal equipment and construction works at the Training Centre of Rostov NPP construction site.
To undergo the training, the Vietnamese specialists will pass the qualification, which will be conducted by the experts of the JSC NIAEP – JSC ASE in Vietnam itself.
The Vietnamese delegation members have spent two days on the construction site of Rostov NPP. Until the working group began to develop a protocol, it had made a round of the units under construction, and studied the technologies used on the construction site. The Deputy General Director of Song Da Corporation Kim Manh Ha said that he was surprised by the high level and quality of the works:
“We liked the progressive methods of the construction management. We saw how our future partner applies them in practice. Especially, we were impressed by the Multi-D engineering project,” shared his impressions Mr. Kim Manh Ha.
And now our experts will make a return visit to Vietnam. It is planned that in June they will form the first team of trainees to the construction site of Rostov nuclear power plant.
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. The Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and the Unit 2 – in December 2010. The Power Units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
