VNIIAES: the Rostov NPP power block No.3 simulator trial has been completed

On April 22, 2016, the Rostov NPP power block No.3 simulator (PMT-3) has undergone the acceptance trial.

The machine helps the block desk operational staff gain the knowledge and skills required to perform their duties successfully. The trial was carried out as scheduled at the RosNPP training center, with the acceptance board confirming the simulator’s compliance with the Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC standards.

This comprehensive simulator is a joint project of VNIIAES, the Ural electromechanical plant (Yekaterinburg), and the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. The integrated ENICAD environment, the contemporary modelling design software suite, served as a basis for simulator development.

PMT-3 includes the following components:
  • a comprehensive Rostov NPP power block No.3 unit control panel and reserve control panel simulator;

  • the software suite catering for multiple-mode full-scale physical processes modelling in the power block’s technology systems and full-featured management system models;

  • the coupling network for the PMT modelling software suite and the unit control panel and reserve control panel simulators;

  • the trainers’ workstations;

  • CCTV and registration systems.

The main goal of MPT-3 is to provision secure and effective operation of the Rostov NPP power block No.3.
