VNIIAES JSC began develop a set of standards for cyber security of NPP’s computer-aided process control systems (CAPCS). This task was assigned by Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, which previously appointed VNIIAES responsible for domestic NPPs protection against cyber threats.

Currently, the basic standard – “Systems for Monitoring and Control. NPP CAPCS’ Cyber Security. Terms and Definitions” – is prepared in two languages – Russian and English. The standard specifies the terms and definitions of the basic concepts used in the field of CAPCS cyber security. This will unify cyber security solutions in creating, implementing and operating of NPP CAPCS’ systems and complexes.

As previously reported, the analysis of the operating NPPs CAPCS protection against cyber threats will be held in the first half of 2017.
