The first summer nuclear school “Youth and the Future of the Nuclear Power Branch” has been held in Sevastopol

On June 19-July 1, 2011, the First Summer Nuclear School “Youth and the Future of the Nuclear Power Branch” was held within the framework of the program of Rosenergoatom concern OJSC and Energoatom NAEK GP collaboration on the basis of Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry (Ukraine).

The students of MEPhI National Research Nuclear University – central department and Obninsk Institute of the Nuclear Power Industry MEPhI on the Russian party and the students of the recipient University, Odessa National Polytechnic University and Kiev National Polytechnic University on the Ukrainian party took part in the work of the school. All the participants were united by one thing – all of them were studying the specialties required at the nuclear plants of both Russia and Ukraine.

The young people listened to the lectures on the nuclear power industry burning problems conducted by the leading tutors of the universities taking part in the project. Each participant of the event prepared a report concerning his or her students’ research work.

Then the students and the tutors took part in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of SNUNE (Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry) and the 20th anniversary of the formation of an independent Ukraine.

The culture program of the event included the excursions on Sevastopol city-hero and the Crimea, which is rich with its historical places, and bathing in the Black Sea.

The exchange of experience and ideas in the area of the training of the specialists for the nuclear power branch became the main result of the school.
