The city of atomists – Desnogorsk – has been acknowledged to be the best city of Smolensk region
On June 24, 2011 a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of XII regional contest “The Best Municipal Formation of Smolensk region” was held in Smolensk.
The city of Smolensk atomists-powermen – Desnogorsk – has been acknowledged “the Best City Municipal District of Smolensk region” for the third time and received the honourable right to keep the region flag for perpetual storage.
Governor Sergey Antufiev handed to Desnogorsk City Administration Head Mikhail Khobotov and Head of Municipal Formation Vladimir Blokhin the flag of the winner and a certificate for 1 mln rubles for further development of the city. Alongside with the heads of municipal education and the city administration, Desnogorsk delegation was represented by deputies and Smolensk NPP employees as well.
Speaking on the behalf of Desnogorsk citizens, Deputy of Regional Duma, Atomtrans OJSC Director Mikhail Losenko noted that one more victory had become possible owing to the consolidation of the forces of the city forming enterprise – Smolensk NPP – and the city and the deputies of the city council, aimed at fulfillment of social obligations and the improvement of the citizens’ lives.
Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Every year SNPP supplies to the country electric power system at the average about 20 bln kilowatt-hours of electric power equal to almost 13% of power generated in Rosenergoatom Concern and to more than 80% of that generated by the power plants of Smolensk region.
