From 14 till October 18, 2013 on the Smolensk nuclear power plant passed check of readiness of the Smolensk nuclear power plant to work during the autumn and winter period.

The structure of the checking commission included representatives of "Rosenergoatom" concern, Smolensk regional dispatching office, department of the state energy supervision of the Smolensk region and colleagues from the Kursk nuclear power plant. 

The commission estimated availability for service of the station capital equipment, engineering communications and constructions, personnel preparation. Experts analysed technological documentation, job descriptions, organizational and administrative documents.

"During check there weren't revealed the violations interfering work of the nuclear station during the autumn and winter period, - commission chairman Alexander Kornyushkin, the chief technologist of inspection department of safety and "Rosenergoatom" concern production at final meeting emphasized. – The commission will recommend to the director general of "Rosenergoatom" concern to issue to the Smolensk nuclear power plant the availability for service passport during the autumn and winter period of 2013-2014."

As positive practice the commission noted experience of the electronic program usability on the Smolensk nuclear power plant "Consumers of Own Needs".

The Smolensk nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". SAES annually issues in a country power supply system on the average about 20 billion kilowatts of hours of the electric power that constitutes about 13% of the energy developed in Rosenergoatom concern, and more than 80%, the Smolensk region made by the power entities.
