The Smolensk NPP: power unit ?3 stopped for overhaul

The power unit ?3 of the Smolensk NPP was stopped for scheduled overhaul for a period of 21 days on June 19, 2015.

Works on the equipment of the power unit will be executed in accordance with the annual schedule of routine repairs at the Smolensk NPP.

There are two power units in work at the moment. The total capacity is 1991 megawatts. There are no comments to the equipments’ work.

The Smolensk NPP power units developed 1 billion 207 million kWh of electricity during 19 days of June, exceeding the planned target on 257 million kWh of electricity. Since the beginning of the year 2015 it has been produced 11 billion 372 million kWh, over the plan - 663 million kWh.

The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Smolensk nuclear power plant and the surrounding territory.

The Smolensk nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The SNPP annually issues on the average about 20 billion kilowatts hours of the electric power into country power supply system, that constitutes about 13% of the energy, developed in «Rosenergoatom Concern», and more than 80% of the Smolensk region energy, developed by the power entities.
