The Rostov nuclear power plant: young nuclear scientists chose the new leader

On September 4 in a conference room of the Rostov nuclear power plant took place general meeting of nuclear youth. More than 100 young workers and young specialists of nuclear station took part in it. In the agenda were elections of the chairman of the young nuclear scientists organization (OYNS).

The elections of the leader of OMA were held by open voting on the basis of self-promotion. Any employee of the nuclear station aged isn't more senior than 35 years could submit the questionnaire in due time. To “position” of the chairman there were two candidates– the meter man of the radiation safety department Mikhail Habarov and the electrician of electric shop Stepan Shershunov. Each of them prepared presentation of the program, having declared organization development plans, and also the purposes and tasks on the near future. The greatest number of voices was gathered as a result by Mikhail Habarov.

The new leader of the Rostov nuclear power plant OMA was congratulated by the deputy director on personnel management Alexander Bushnev and the chairman of the nuclear station labor union Alexander Soroka, having marked out that only the initiative of youth and its persistence will be able to make OMA the strong organization.

In the nearest future young scientists will have to participate in OMA council election which also will be organized  as open voting.. It is supposed that as a part of council seven commissions will work: organizational and economic, information, scientific and technical, ecological, social, sports and cultural and mass. Therefore each young nuclear scientist will be able to take the most active part in OMA activities, having chosen the direction closest to it.

The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated. The power unit No. 1 is put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010.
