On October 23, 2013 the Rostov nuclear power plant was visited by the Director general of «Rosenergoatom» concern Evgeny Romanov with working visit. He inspected a building site of power units No. No. 3,4, held a production meeting concerning their construction, met staff of the entity.

In 2014 start-up of the third power unit of the Rostov nuclear power plant is expected. Evgeny Romanov noted that this object, as well as all starting, is priority for an industry and is in a zone of special attention of a management of Concern and «Rosatom» State corporation.

The head of «Rosenergoatom» Evgeny Romanov accompanied by the director of station Andrey Salnikov, the president of JSC «NIAEP» Valeria Limarenko, the director of the Rostov nuclear power plant construction JSC «NIAEP» Alexander Hazin inspected a reactor building, a machine hall and a block control panel of the power unit No. 3, visited a power unit No. 4 building site.

Estimating a state of affairs on building and degree of readiness of starting object – the power unit No. 3, Evgeny Romanov noted:

«The ambitious purpose is to launch the third power unit in 2014. Therefore it is extremely important to trace those actions which allow to implement these tasks. And in this plan I am absolutely satisfied with what I saw on the building site. The Rostov nuclear power plant, the third block is for today the best building of «Rosenergoatom».

At a production meeting which after a bypass was held by the head of Concern, questions of a course of construction and schedule performance on a construction and balancing and commissioning on No. No. 3, 4 power units were discussed. In meeting heads of producing departments and divisions of nuclear station, and also the contract and subcontract organizations accepted.

Speaking about tasks of the current year, the director of the Rostov nuclear power plant Andrey Salnikov emphasized:

«The main objective which we implement and shall execute until the end of 2013 is a welding of the main circulating contour. Works as a whole go according to the schedule. On a closing stage installation of the reactor systems majority and turbine departments. We prepare for the beginning of a stage of balancing and commissioning. Total number of the personnel on a building site is about five and a half thousand people».

During the visit Evgeny Romanov paid special attention to communication with the personnel of the nuclear station. At the meeting in which employees of the nuclear power plant participated, including youth and veterans of the entity, a row by that, concerning development of nuclear power as a whole and questions actual for the Rostov nuclear power plant were discussed. These are implementations of the housing programme, prospect of development of some youth projects, the career and professional growth of young specialists.

Summing up the day spent on the Rostov nuclear power plant, Evgeny Romanov praised work of the station staff:

«Staff of the Rostov nuclear power plant is one of the best and strongest in Concern. Pleases as there is a construction of new blocks, and how passes this year on operation - the Rostov nuclear power plant works with record ICUR (installed capacity utilization rate). The personnel is beautiful, smart, active people. Impressions of today's work are the most positive».

In visit completion Evgeny Romanov met journalists and answered interesting their questions.

The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated. The power unit No. 1 is put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010.
