The Rostov NPP: thermal deaerator of boron control mounted at the power unit ?4 under construction

Thermal deaerator of boron control was mounted in the main building of the power unit ?4 under construction of the Rostov NPP.

Deaerator is a device designed to remove dissolved oxygen and corrosive gases that contribute to intensive corrosion of walls of steam generators, pipelines, heat exchangers and other equipment of nuclear power plants.

Water storage tanks of an automatic fire-extinguishing system were established in containment on the foundations and tank for draining water from the steam generators was installed.

Pre-assembly of units of emergency cooling pipelines of primary circuit piping, of piplenes blocks of organized leaks and draining of primary circuit, as well as - chemically desalted water pipelines is being done in the reactor compartment of the power unit ?4.

Launch of the power unit ?4 of the Rostov NPP is scheduled for 2017.

The Rostov nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. There are two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt operating at the nuclear station. The power unit No. 1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010. The power unit ?3 physical launch was in November 2014, energy launch - in December 2014. The power unit ?4 is being constructed.
