Assembly of the motor driven valves and pumps motors at the reactor compartment has started at the power block No.4 under construction. Testing mode of the hydraulic system has been launched at the storage pool compartments. Till the end of August the nuclear reactor fuel loading machine will also require pre-commissioning.


The Deputy Director of the capital construction at the Rostov NPP Alexey Fedotov commented on the work completed in 2016 and presented tasks, which have to be implemented by the end of 2017:
«This year we have finished the assembly of the main circulation line and the pressurizer at the reactor compartment. The turbine’s shifting line has been constructed and the turbine condensers has been installed at the turbine house. It is planned to provide voltage for the redundant diesel power plants ?1, ?2 and ?3, as well as to start an important technological procedure of testing the assembled lines when the reactor is on, till the end of the year».

The power block No. 4 is planned to be launched in 2017.

The Rostov NPP is an affiliate company for Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is based at the Tsymlianskoe reservoir shore 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates VVER-1000 reactors with the installed capacity of 1000 megawatts. The power block No.1 commenced commercial operations in 2001, with the second and the third power blocks to follow in 2010 and on September 17, 2015, respectively. The power block No. 4 is currently under construction.
