The Rostov NPP: oil lines are being assembled at the 4th power block under construction

The turbine generator service platforms’ steelworks are being assembled at the machine hall of the Rostov NPP 4th power block under construction.

At the same time, the Volgodonsk building and construction department, the contracting company, is taking care of the oil basket and oil pipe steelworks designed to transfer oil to the turbine during its operations.

Victor Sevostyanov, the Volgodonsk building and construction department chief engineer, explained: “The oil supply system is just as important for a power block as it is for any engine – rubbing parts at the turbine house are to be oiled”.

The steam generators service platforms, spill systems’ pipelines and refueling machines’ wiring schemes are being assembled at the reactor building.

The 4th power block is scheduled to be launched in 2017.

The Rostov NPP is an affiliate company for Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is based at the Tsymlianskoe reservoir shore 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates VVER-1000 reactors with the installed capacity of 1000 megawatts. The power block No.1 commenced commercial operations in 2001, with the second and the third power blocks to follow in 2010 and on September 17, 2015, respectively. The power block No. 4 is currently under construction.
