The Rostov NPP held a planned comprehensive inspection by the Concern "Rosenergoatom"

The Rostov NPP held a comprehensive inspection by the Concern "Rosenergoatom" on security provision from May 25 to June 5, 2015.

The comprehensive inspection included entire spectrum of the nuclear power plant activity - starting from operation of existing units and up to construction of the power unit ?4, specifically: management, organization and quality assurance; operation; maintenance and repair; engineering support; operating experience and resource management; fire protection; emergency management; radiation protection; training and qualification of personnel.

Inspection of the power unit ?4 under construction for compliance with occupational safety and health rules, exploitation of lifting mechanisms, building control, quality assurance and others.

The commission inspection was headed by the Deputy Head of the NPPs’ safety inspection department at the "Rosenergoatom" Igor Terekhov.

A report was prepared during the audit, which reflects the results of the inspection.

Inspection of the Rostov NPP had been planned and was carried out according to the schedule of inspections of the "Rosenergoatom" Concern NPPs for 2015.

The Rostov nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. There are two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt operating at the nuclear station. The power unit No. 1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010. Launch of power unit ?3 was in November 2-14, physical start-up was in December 2014. Power unit ?4 is being constructed.
