The Novovoronezh NPP-2 (Customer is the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", the general designer and general contractor is the JSC "AEP", Moscow) has completed the installation of the inner containment zone prestressing system (SPCZ) at the reactor building of the first power unit.

Application of the prestressing system technology significantly increases the durability and reliability of the reactor building. System consists of 128 reinforcing beams (68 horizontal and 60  vertical), they were placed in the channels through containment. This is in total 7040 high strength steel cables, stretched using special equipment with a force of 1,200 tons. To control the tension force for the life of the power unit it has been equipped with special sensors.

The SPZO willingness is a necessary condition for the implementation of such a crucial operation as test of the reactor containment building strength and tightness.
