The Leningrad NPP: power unit ?4 is in planned overhaul from June 6

The power unit ?4 of the Leningrad NPP will be shut down for planned major repairs on June 6, 2015, which will last until the end of July 2015. However, the power unit was already reduced to capacity 500 MW on June 3 to 4 in accordance with the dispatch schedule.

During the repair work it is scheduled to proceed works, while will ensure continued reliable operation of the power unit. Among this works are operational control, repair and replacement of equipment, modernization.

The Leningrad NPP has operating power units ?? 2, 3 and 4 at the moment, which bear the load of 2500 MW according to operations schedule. Power unit ?1 has been in planned overhaul since April 4 and up to the end of July 2015.

The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, in the city Sosnovy Bor and the surrounding territory.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant is the JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Sosnovy Bor in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units with electric capacity of 1000 MWt each operate at the nuclear power plant.
