The Leningrad NPP: St. Petersburg meets winners of the International Competition "We are Children of Atom City 2015"

Exciting awards ceremony for finalists of the XI International Competition "We are - Children of Atom City 2015" will take place in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region during 17-22 July 2015.

As explained the organizers of the ceremony representatives of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom, Leningrad Region), representatives of Russian atomic cities, Sofia (Bulgaria) and Paris (France) will arrive to attend the ceremony.

Young talents will be offered to meet with the Sheremetevo Palace and Theatre Museum, where people may participate in workshops of "Theatre of Shadows", professional painting of masks and plates and other exciting competitions in addition to traditional excursions on the rivers and canals of the northern capital in St. Petersburg. Also there is a tour to legendary and unsubdued fort "Red Hill" (aka - Alexis Ravelin), built at the beginning of the last century in the program of the ceremony.

Recall? that this year's competition "We - Children of Atom City!" was dedicated to two important dates for our country: the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 70th anniversary of the nuclear industry. The contest received 1,350 works from children aged 3 to 17 years. The jury selected 50 winners and 84 prizewinners, of whom 10 are the youngest winners - from 3 to 6 years old - will receive prizes by mail.

The project "We - the Children of Atom City!" was launched at the Leningrad nuclear power plant in 1995 as a competition for young photographers. After a few years the number of nominations increased, program of the competition began to include new genres and techniques.

The works were sent by children from England from the NPP "Heysham" In 2003 and the project received international status. In 2007 the competition was supported by the State Corporation "Rosatom" and became industrial.

The project will be 20 years in 2015.
