The Leningrad NPP: 2nd power unit reduced by 500 MW due to dispatching restrictions

The second power unit of the Leningrad NPP capacity was reduced by 500 MW because of control constraints of the system operator February 25. Turbogenerator ?4 will be in cold standby mode until March 1.

The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Leningrad nuclear power plant and the surrounding territories.

There are four power units in work at the moment at the Leningrad NPP and their capacity is 3600 MW. There are no comments to the work of the equipment.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant is the JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Sosnovy Bor in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units with electric capacity of 1000 MWt each operate at the nuclear power plant.
