The main gateway for personnel was set to the design position in the reactor building ?1. Installation in the annular space between the inner and outer protective shell at the level +26.30 meters was held by the circular action bridge crane (polar crane) lifting capacity of 360 tons.
 
Later, specialists are going to secure large items, weighing more than 22 tons to its mortgage details and carry out pneumatic test of gateway, as well as strength test and tightness, after the tension of reinforcement ropes at the containment.

Gateways for personnel (primary and backup) are important elements of nuclear power plant sealed enclosure (containment system security). The main gateway is used in the construction of power unit during the period of its operation and during the equipment repair. The gateway is designed for the passage from leaking zone into hermetic zone and back, as well as for transporting small loads with saving design integrity during normal operating conditions and in emergency situations.

Construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 is a part of long-term activities program of the State Corporation "Rosatom".

Customer-developer of the project is the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom".

The general contractor is the JSC "AEP".

General sub-contractor is the JSC "Concern Titan-2".

General designer is the JSC "ATOMPROEKT".

The Rostekhnadzor issued a license (? GN-02-101-2277) for the installation of the power unit ?1 at the Leningrad NPP-2  February 12, 2010 (duration - up to 03.31.2018) and license (? GN-02-101-2276) on installation of the power unit ?2 at the Leningrad NPP-2 (duration - up to 07.14.2019).
