The Leningrad NPP fulfilled plan for electricity production for January-May 2015 on 102.1%

The power units of the Leningrad nuclear power plant (branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", Leningrad region) have developed 12.88 billion kWh of electricity during five months of this year, which accounted to 102.1% of the planned target (12.615 billion kWh) and 105% of the same figure for January-May 2014 (12.266 billion kWh).

The capacity factor (load factor) of the Leningrad NPP in January-May 2015 was 88.85% at the plan of 87.03%.

The Leningrad NPP released 11 billion 954.64 million kWh of electricity into the power system in January-May 2015, accounting to 102.5% of the planned target (11.663 billion kWh) and 105.6% comparing with the same figure for January-May 2014 (11.324 billion kWh).

As of June 1, 2015 the Leningrad NPP has generated 928 billion 683 million kWh of electricity since its launch.

Recall, that the planned target of the Leningrad NPP for electricity production for 2015 has been defined in amount of 26.6 billion kWh with an increase in 13.63% comparing to the plan in 2014.

Also the Leningrad NPP produced 487.5 thousand Gcal of thermal energy in January-May 2015.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant released to major (major) customers in January-May 2015:

- The SMUP "TSP" (heating and hot water supply in Sosnovy Bor) - 369,648 Gcal;

- The FSUE NITI - 47,709 Gcal;

- The FSUE "NPO" Radium Institute. VG Khlopina "and FSUE" RosRAO "- 5778 Gcal;

- The JSC "Ecomet" - 1092 Gcal.

The Leningrad NPP has operating power units ?? 2, 3 and 4 at the moment, which bear the load of 3020 MW according to operations schedule. Power unit ?1 has been in planned overhaul since April 4 and up to the end of July 2015.

The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, in the city Sosnovy Bor and the surrounding territory.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant is the JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Sosnovy Bor in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units with electric capacity of 1000 MWt each operate at the nuclear power plant.

Updated information about radiation situation near the nuclear power plants in Russia and other objects of the nuclear industry is provided on the site www.russianatom.ru.
