The Kursk NPP: in 2015, the share of the small and medium-sized businesses in the NPP’s regional partnership network reached 78%

In 2015, 78% of the Kursk NPP regional business partners were small and medium-sized companies. The goods delivery and service contracts with 87 enterprises of such type accounting for 532.8 million rubles in total were executed.

“The fact that SMBs participate in the Kursk NPP purchasing process is a great example of big and small companies cooperation in our region”, said Mikhail Aksenov, the head of the Kursk Region Consumer market, small business development, and licensing committee. “The nuclear power station opens up opportunities for SMBs to develop their production capabilities and foster high-technology manufacturing”.

As a part of their corporate nurturing policy, the representatives of the Kursk NPP headed by Viacheslav Fedyukin, have held a meeting and a seminar with the management and the leading specialists employed at around 80 regional enterprises that can serve as reliable goods and service providers for the NPP.

“We need impeccable service delivery, while you need constant business and good prospects of working further. We have an interest in mutual cooperation and in the regional budget to receive tax incomes from it”, said Viacheslav Alexandrovich during his address to the entrepreneurs.

The small and medium-sized businesses focused on how they can participate in the Kursk NPP-2 substitution station construction. At the moment, the Kursk region construction companies are working on the administrative and service building housing a 150-people canteen and on the off-site highway. Besides, they install the construction site utilities and carry out engineering works at the production and processing equipment agency’s storage and the Gidrostroy site. SMBs account for three-fifths of the local constructors.

“The development of the Kursk NPP-2 gives small and medium-sized companies lots of ongoing business for many years to come”, Viacheslav Fedyukin stressed. “These are general engineering, welding, concreting, and decoration works, as well as personal, trade, and transportation services, and much more. By the end of the year, the Kursk NPP will have over 200 other purchasing processes completed, so many providers in Kursk have great prospects for earning profits”.

The nuclear power station specialists have organized a training session for representatives of the Kursk NPP SMBs to learn how to use the nuclear power industry’s purchasing system.

“The Kursk NPP’s governmental purchases from small businesses” was organized jointly with the “Entrepreneurship support center – a microfinance organization of the Kursk Region” Association.
