The Kolskaya NPP: the first free wi-fi zone appeared in the city of nuclear scientists

On September 13 in the city Zori, on the square named after Andrushechko, the grand opening of wireless access points to access the Internet with free access to wi-fi took place.

Running free zone wi-fi in Polar Zori was made possible by the joint efforts of the Kolskaya NPP and of "MegaFon", and was marked by the launch of the symbolic flying lantern, which was released into the air by the Kolskaya NPP Director Vasily Omelchuk and the mayor Maxim Pukhov.

In the future accommodation of additional access points is planned. Children square and Hero-pilots’ square are on the waiting list.
 
"Without the use of the World Wide Web it is impossible to imagine modern life, communication between people and, especially, introduction to the knowledge - said at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Director of the Kolskaya NPP Igor Kutuzov. - The Corporation "Rosatom" is a corporation of knowledge and today we are happy to give citizens the opportunity to join the knowledge. "

The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in 200 km to the South from Murmansk on the shore of the Lake Imandra. It develops about 60% of the electric power of Murmansk region. There are 4 power units in operation with reactors of type VVER 440 MW each. The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is the supplier of the electric power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
