The ceremony of awarding the winners of the annual online contest "Man of labor 2015", organized by the Office of Information and Public Relations of the KNPP together with the Public Chamber of the Tver region, took place at the Kalininskaya NPP on June 5. The competition has been held in the Tver region since 2012. The purpose of the project is to promote respect for labor, employment and social significance of professions.

Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Tver region Lidia Tumanov said: "I fully support the initiative of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant in conducting of such a great competition. It allows us to restore respect for work and to show that every honest work is honorable".

This year's competition was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 70th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry. It was attended by residents of Tver and the Tver region. Age of participants was from 15 to 84 years. Works were accepted in three categories: "A man of labor" (stories about people of different professions), "Veterans and we" (Volunteer help and taking care about veterans of the Great Patriotic War), "Defenders" (professionals that continue the defense of the country and save lives of citizens in the postwar period - military, law enforcement officers, emergency officers, emergency doctors and etc.). The winners in each of the three categories were determined by the competitive commission, winners of the Audience Choice Award were determined by an online vote on the blog of the Kalininskaya NPP.

"The theme of the contest" is "Man of labor" and it is very relevant and actual. It is particularly important for the formation of youth’s right attitude to life and for understanding that the establishment of each person is not possible without  hard work. We need to involve more and more participants, especially among the youth and younger generation,"- said the director of the Kalininskaya NPP Mikhail Kanyshev. He also thanked the Public Chamber of the Tver region for supporting the initiative of the Kalininskaya NPP and expressed hope that their joint cooperation will be enriched with new significant projects in the future.

Competition results:

Nomination "Man of labour":

• Winner - Tamara Buldakova (Tver), a veteran of labor during the Great Patriotic War with the story "Not afraid of men's work."

• Winner of the Audience Choice Award - Valentin Borisov (Udomlya) with a history of "Udomelsk Pearl". The work received 66.7% of votes in the online voting.

Nomination "Veterans and we":

• The winner and the winner of the Audience Choice Award - Galina Ermolaeva (Andreapol) with the story "Do good without requiring a reward". The work received 90.9% of votes in the online voting.
 
Nomination "Defenders":

• The winner and the winner of the Audience Choice Award - Maria Ovcharenko (Udomlya, a student of 9th grade in gymnasium ?3) with the work "My grandmother Isida Tamara - the fate in  struggle for people's lives." The work received 84.6% of votes in the online voting.

The winner of the special prize of the Youth Organization of the Kalininskaya NPP - Lubov Mamayeva (Bologoe) with the story "Aunt Inna".

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
