The Kalinin NPP: the 1st phase of the data processing center construction next to the NPP is expected to be completed in March 2017

According to Sergey Migalin, the Rosenergoatom Concern financial director and the deputy CEO, the first phase of the data processing center (DPC) construction next to the Kalinin NPP (the Rosenergoatom Concern affiliate) is expected to be completed in March 2017. He made this statement during his working visit to the construction site of the largest data processing and storage center in Russia.

The DPC construction is a sample of the new line of business Rosenergoatom implements as a part of the Rosatom State Corporation’s top-priority development strategy, that is, new products and services introduction. “The DPC is a serious long-term project boasting considerable safety guarantees, decent work and transparent relationship”, the Rosenergoatom’s finance director stressed.

On November 30, 2016, the representatives of the Russian Federal Tax Service and AO Konsist-OS have accompanied him during the visit.

The Data processing center will provide major corporations with a set of IT services related to personal data protection and information storage, thus fostering information security in the Russian Federation. Rostelecom has already entered into an agreement for leasing most of the premises.

“We are interested in extending our information systems. Today we are here to see the center’s construction side by ourselves and to exchange contacts”, said Valeriy Sidelin, the deputy head of the Federal Tax Service’s IT office.

The participants of the meeting held as a part of the trip have discussed the construction priority, the facilities’ construction readiness, the technical parameters of the working capacity utilities. Besides, they have paid a visit to the data processing center site.

The Concern foresees that in 2017 the DPC will be ready to allocate around 800 typical stations along with their utilities. “Those will be fully furnished halls fully ready to be used by our consumers, leasers or partners”, Sergey Migalin said. “We can fully cater for remote DPC management for as long as our maintenance staff can carry out all the necessary activities. The Concern and the Kalinin NPP have their own support systems, a part of which will be located at the DPC site. It will also host the Concern’s IT service operator – AO Konsist-OS”.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
