The Kalinin NPP: planned fire training successfully passed

The exercise was attended by the operating personnel of the station, specialists from service of technological management, fire brigades FFS Emergency Situations Ministry were involved. Training was conducted in accordance with the main activities’ plan of the Main Department of ESM of Russia in the Tver region and the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant.

Interaction skills between operational personnel and units of fire brigades in conditions of contingency situation at the station were practiced during fire training.

The exercises are an integral part of ensuring safe operation of nuclear power plants.

Power units of the Kalininskaya are operating normally. The radiation background corresponds to level of normal operation of power units, which doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
