The Kalinin NPP team is ready to solve the industry’s production problems, the head of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC says

During the first field visit to the Kalinin NPP on April 7, 2016, the Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC director Andrey Petrov has gone around the industrial facilities, the NPP’s storage and the Data processing center construction site.

Afterwards, he held a number of production meetings with the head of workshops and departments covering all aspects of the Kalinin NPP operational output and its plans for 2016. The main spokespeople have elaborated on how the nuclear power station’s operational safety is provisioned for, the professional safety status, the inventory control, and storage optimization, as well as increasing the NPP’s efficiency.

The head of the Concern has paid special attention to the Rosatom’s production system (RPS) being implemented at the Kalinin NPP. “As of now, this direction is extremely important. The main goal of the division is to maximize the production efficiency, which is possible with the RPS programs deployed and the NPPs operating as RPS units in general”, said Andrey Petrov.


As a result of the visit, the head of Rosenergoatom has praised the Kalinin NPP, saying that the station’s team understands its goals and tasks perfectly, is ready to do their best and aim at solving the existing issues.

Prior to that, on April 6, the Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC director Andrey Petrov has had a meeting with Igor Rudenya, the acting governor of the Tver Region. Mr. Petrov and Mr. Rudenya have discussed the key areas of cooperation between the Region Government, the Concern, and the Kalinin NPP. In particular, they have covered the way the Cooperation agreement between the Tver Region and the Rosatom is being adhered to.

“Sticking to the Agreement (which implies additional tax income into the regional budget) fosters the development of the Kalinin NPP location, implementation of social projects important for the Udomlya district and the city of Udomlya”, said Andrey Petrov. “We have reached a consensus and are planning to sign an addendum for 2016 shortly. Besides, we would also like to set the list of events to be carried out under this Agreement”.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
