The Kalinin NPP power unit ?1 disconnected from the network

On September 18 at 11 h. 53 min. the Kalinin NPP power unit ?1 was stopped by the action of automatic system. After finding out of the power unit stop cause, it will be connected to the grid.
There are no violations of limits and conditions of safe operation.

According to the International Nuclear Event Scale for INES this event is rated as "out of scale", that is not significant to safety.

Power units ?2 and ?4 of the Kalinin NPP are operating normally. At the power ?3 renovations are undergoing. The radiation background at the station and the surrounding area remains unchanged and is located at the natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
