The Gosatomnadzor of Belarus has issued a perpetual license to Atomtechenergo on using atomic power and ionizing radiation sources

On November 9, 2016, the Nuclear and radiation safety department at the Emergency Control Ministry of the Republic of Belarus (Gosatomnadzor) issued a special license to Amotechenergo allowing the usage of atomic power and ionizing radiation sources when delivering services that can impact safety.

This special license enables the Amotechenergo team in Belarus to work on a set of commissioning activities for launching the 1st and the 2nd power blocks of the Belarusian NPP and does not have any set expiration date.

The board of the Belarusian Emergency Control Ministry made a decision on issuing the special license on using atomic power and ionizing radiation sources to Atomtechenergo on October 24, 2016.

This license was the second one issued to Atomtechenergo by the Emergency Control Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. In July 2016, the company obtained a special license from the Ministry on fire safety activities.

At the moment, the representative office of Atomtechenergo in the Republic of Belarus is working on the preparatory activities to obtain a license on industrial safety operations from the Belarusian Emergency Control Ministry.

The process of licensing several types of operation and the work of the governmental authorities entitled to issue such licenses is regulated by the Presidential Decree No.450 “Regarding the licenses for separate types of operations” dated September 1st, 2010.

Atomtechenergo is a part of the managerial group of the Rosatom State Corporation and is an affiliate company of the Rosenergoatom Concern. Atomtechenergo’s headquarters and eight affiliate offices are located in Russia. Six offices are focusing on NPPs’ pre-commissioning activities, with the other two training operational staff for those NPPs.

Atmotechenergo is a full-cycle provider of NPP launching services delivering all types of pre-commissioning activities across all equipment and systems used at NPPs.
