On August 14 the deputy director general – the general inspector of JSC «Rosenergoatom Concern» Nikolay Sorokin and the chief of the inspection of safety department of the nuclear power plant Pavel Medvedev visited the Balakovo nuclear power plant.

They made a bypass of nuclear station then took part in meeting with directors.

Preparation for target check of safety of the Balakovo nuclear power plant coming in September by JSC «Rosenergoatom Concern» commission, and also discussion of new methodical approaches for carrying out checks of the nuclear power plant safety became subjects of the meeting.

Addressing participants, the General inspector noted that a main goal of target check coming on the Balakovo nuclear power plant is initiation of the actions directed on improvement of a situation in difficult areas and distribution of good practice.

Thus Nikolay Sorokin emphasized that implementation in case of checks of the openness and trust principles is a guarantee of the most complete identification of areas for improvements and, as a result, interest of the nuclear power plant in results of check.
